Earlier this week two large boxes arrived at our office emblazoned with the Ford logo. These boxes did not contain parts for our patrol vehicles, but rather were filled to-capacity with items equally critical to our daily operations: hospital-grade face masks.
Executive Assistant to the Sheriff Jessica Vogler worked to acquire the boxes of masks at no cost to Ashe County through a partnership between Ford and the National Sheriffs’ Association. These much-needed masks, over three thousand of them, will be used by our deputies and detention officers and we will be sharing them with both the West Jefferson Police Department and the Jefferson Police Department as well as every fire department in Ashe County.
We would like to thank Ford and the National Sheriffs’ Association for their thoughtful and generous donation and for Mrs. Vogler for working to save Ashe taxpayers money by securing this donation and distributing them to our fellow law enforcement agencies and local fire departments.
