One of our local citizens received this scam in their mail in the past week. The scammer is attempting to get residents to deposit these fake, but authentic-looking, checks. Once the checks have been deposited the scammers victimize the citizen by having them withdraw and send real money/gift cards before the victim realizes the check was a fake. Be on alert and don’t send them anything!!!
