The Traffic Safety Program was created in 2025 and is fully funded through Drug Asset Forfeiture funds. This program gives neighborhoods and communities the ability to request increased law-enforcement presence in their area. That may include additional patrols when officers are not responding to calls, as well as deployment of our new Traffic SpeedAlert Trailer.

The Traffic SpeedAlert Trailer displays safety messages, measures vehicle speeds, and automatically sends that data back to the Sheriff’s Office. This allows us to analyze trends and determine whether traffic concerns are speed-related or caused by other factors.
